Pitha Utshob is a vibrant winter cultural festival that highlights the rich food heritage and artistic traditions of Bangladesh. Organized annually by Oulun Arctic Tigers ry, the event brings together communities in Oulu to celebrate diversity, creativity, and cultural connection.

What to Expect
Pitha Utshob features an open exhibition and complimentary tasting of traditional Bangladeshi winter delicacies. Visitors can enjoy a variety of handmade pithas such as Bhapa, Chitoi, Patishapta, and Puli, along with classic sweets like Jilapi and Roshogolla. The festival also showcases creative Bangla–Western fusion cakes and snacks that reflect the blending of cultures in modern Bangladeshi cuisine.
Beyond food, the programme includes:

- Songs and poetry
- Storytelling and cultural presentations
Cultural Significance
Since its launch in 2022, Pitha Utshob has grown into an important annual tradition for the Bangladeshi community in Oulu. The festival promotes cultural preservation, inclusion, sustainability, and intercultural dialogue, welcoming people of all nationalities to participate and learn.
